Adaptability for Multimedia Presentations
Abstract
We propose Adaptability-Trees (AT) as conceptual models to capture the adaptability potential of arbitrarily preorchestrated multimedia presentations. AT are targeted at supporting optimization methods which must orchestrate adaptations. Orchestrated adaptations take into account that usually multimedia presentations consist of several concurrent media presentations which each allow certain adaptations. The proposal includes a formalism for AT to develop respective algorithms. Furthermore, it discusses aspects of optimization methods and presents a measurement approach for presentation quality which can be used as one optimization criterion.
